The Cities Power Partnership (CPP) is a dynamic network of Australian local governments working to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future. Their annual Climate Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of local councils in addressing climate change and advancing sustainability.
Earlier this month the 2023 Climate Awards were held in Melbourne. Councils showcased innovative projects, shared best practices and received recognition for creating more sustainable communities.
Finalists were selected from entries submitted by a diverse range of communities from rural townships through to capital cities across eight award categories. We were thrilled to see Infocouncil clients feature prominently in the winners’ circle!
And the winners were …
Renewable Energy Achievement Award – City of Mitcham, SA
Energy Efficiency Achievement Award – Brimbank City Council, VIC
Battler Award – Shoalhaven City Council, NSW
Innovation Award – ACT Government
Collaboration Award – Yarra City Council, VIC
Climate Ambassador Award (elected representative) – Tweed Shire Council, NSW – Mayor Chris Cherry
Climate Champion Award – Health, Environment and Waste Branch staff, Logan City Council, QLD
Community Choice Award – City of Mitcham, SA
Our commitment
At Infocouncil we are committed to addressing climate change by facilitating paperless creation and distribution of council meeting papers. Our workflows remove the need to print draft reports and our bookmarked PDF agendas and minutes allow councils to drastically reduce the printing of bulky agendas and minutes, resulting in massive savings in paper and ink use, and couriers!
We congratulate the winners of the Annual Climate Awards.
